Description:
Calleguas’s Aquifer Storage and Recovery (ASR) Wellfield is critical for water supply reliability for approximately two-thirds of Ventura County residents who are wholly or partially dependent upon water from Calleguas. The Steve Blois Emergency Generators are needed to ensure all ASR Wellfield facilities can be operational during planned and unplanned interruptions of imported water supply and when utility power is lost due to power grid failure or Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS). The emergency generators have provided the ultimate backup in recent years, keeping the water flowing during unprecedented events that included PSPS outages that coincided with scheduled interruptions to Calleguas’s imported water supply.
